Significant
Opportunities
Morrell
Road:
Because there is wide separation between curb cuts, there may be opportunities
for landscape medians to be created. Trees should also be planted near
the edges of the right-of-way and adjoining properties.
Northshore
Drive:
This was one of Knox County’s early country roads, known as Lowe’s Ferry
Road in the 19th century. As would be expected, there are many mature
trees along the corridor. Although it is many years into the future,
the conservation of trees and the planting program for new trees should
be part of any highway-widening program. A program to place utility
lines underground should be undertaken with road improvements.
