Incorporated Areas outside the Sectors

The sector boundaries include the vast majority of Knoxville’s incorporated area. The maps in the major corridors section address planting and conservation approaches for some of the other incorporated areas. The tree planting recommendations for other areas such as those around interchanges at the edge of the city are as follows:

  • Conserve the trees and woodlands in the interchange areas
  • Plant additional large and small native trees in the interchange areas, especially where they are lacking
  • Use the planting and conservation strategies previously outlined to enhance outlying business districts and neighborhoods, and areas that are annexed in the future.
