Background Report

Least Constrained Land
View Map 5: Least Constrained Land

Of the 57,069 acres of land in the sector, approximately 12,740 acres are developed, leaving 44,329 acres of land undeveloped. Approximately 11,816 of those acres have severe constraints such as steep slopes and should not be developed. The remaining 32,513 acres are considered unconstrained, but most of this acreage is located in the rural area, where development should be limited. Approximately 9,140 acres of vacant land remain in urban and planned growth areas.
