The park’s creation filled major voids in north Knox County’s recreation needs because the rapidly growing area desperately needed soccer, baseball and football fields. Barge Waggoner Sumner and Cannon, and Rusty Baksa designed the award winning facilities.

The result is a new home for Central High School’s baseball team and eight additional fields, providing opportunities for hundreds of youngsters to play football, soccer, rugby, baseball and lacrosse.

Additionally, Petsafe contributed by creating the county’s largest dog park, including areas for both large and small dogs. Finally, over three miles of trails were added to the greenway system.

This park realized the dream of the community and the goals of park and sector plans. The designers and the county share in this accomplishment.
