During the last few years, the City’s Community Development Department has implemented a building face lift program in the Heart of Knoxville. Their success has been remarkable with twenty businesses having been restored. Known as the Facade Improvement Program, it has instilled new life in such neighborhoods as Burlington, the Old City, Old North Knoxville and Mechanicsville.
