The developer, Jeffrey Nash, who hails from Great Britain, saw the possibility to take a vacant deteriorated store

and renew its life as an English-style gastropub. In addition to the pub, second story apartments add vitality to the Old City .

The Crown and Goose entices visitors to step through accordion doors and into an "indoor-outdoor" lounge.

The renovation opened up the interior space to create generous seating and a relaxing atmosphere.

A beer garden awaits visitors at the back of the restaurant.

Outdoor seating offers views of the skyline and mural of a London streetscape.

Scott Osborne, of R2R Architecture, drew the renovation plans, which were the first to be approved by the Downtown Design Review Board. The Crown and Goose established a high standard for redevelopment and proved that the Downtown Design Guidelines can foster successful renovation.
