Special Use Winner:
Victor Ashe Park

4901 Bradshaw Road
Developer: City of Knoxville

This 100-acre park was established to address recreation needs in Knoxville’s northwestern suburbs. Hnedak Bobo, formerly known as Bullock Smith and Partners, created the architectural and landscaping plans. Wilbur Smith, and Phillips and Jordan were responsible for engineering and construction.

The park features a series of trails that are linked to Northwest Middle School. One loop surrounds the green. A farm pond was conserved and now serves as an irrigation source. Traditional park facilities include a playground…in this case, designed to be accessible to all children. The walkways and other structures are also accessible to everyone. Unique features are the City’s first dog park and the Frisbee golf links, a tournament site for this growing pastime.
