Plantation Springs Subdivision at Westland and Ebeneezer roads is planned around an old plantation house built in the 1940s by the Sanford family of Sanford-Day Ironworks Company. The house is used by the residents as a community center for such activities as bridge games, cookouts, and private parties.

Two swimming pools and a regulation croquet course are among the amenities included near the plantation house.

The design elements of the historic house are thematically carried out through the 35-acre subdivision with the use of white fencing and at the gated entryway.

Other amenities include water features and walking trails.

The subdivision incorporated an abundance of new landscaping and was able to preserve older tree canopies in strategic locations.

The site has constraints associated with high voltage overhead power lines running through it. The layout of the subdivision minimizes the visual impact of these lines and essentially turns a development liability into a community asset with green space and a water feature.

The subdivision has143 lots with single-family detached houses and villa-style attached houses, ranging from mid-$170,000 to $350,000.
