Promontory Point, downtown Knoxville ’s newest, high-end residential development contributes to downtown revitalization with its beautiful architectural design. It is the capstone of the city’s Volunteer Landing waterfront development along the Tennessee River , much of which was built by Johnson and Galyon, one of Knoxville ’s premier general contractors. With the leadership of the company’s chairman, Jim Bush, Johnson and Galyon took the risk to develop the remaining 1.26-acre sliver of land. The structure blends English country manor and Cape Cod architectural styles.

Situated at an angle high above the Tennessee River , Promontory Point residents have a breathtaking view-through large- cathedral-style windows- of the river, parts of downtown and the University of Tennessee campus. Wood, shingles and manufactured stone complete the country manor theme, which is carried through to the interior with arched hallways/doorways and high ceilings.

Promontory Point includes 20 condominiums that all sold within one year ranging between $300,000 to $400,000. Common amenities include a gated entry, private parking under the building, state of the art heated swimming pool and a recreation area that includes a sunning deck and barbecue area overlooking the river. The two-bedroom condos are about 1,650-sq. ft. and the three-bedrooms are more than 2000 sq. The interiors include hardwood floors, gas fireplaces, high-end kitchens and waterfront balconies.
