Receiving a 2002 Renovation award is the Meridian Trust Building, located along Northshore Drive. You may recall the four-story box that marked the site for decades. TJ Development Corporation worked with George Ewart to revive the undistinguished office building. The result is another remarkable transformation. The renovated façade has an attractive, airy feeling. The five-story tower now has cornices and details, providing a more traditional appearance. The commission found the elevated patio, decorative fencing and sculpture to be pleasant, pedestrian-oriented improvements. The Meridian Trust Building promises to be a noteworthy asset to Bearden's redevelopment.
