All Saints Catholic Church and
Knoxville Catholic High School

All Saints photo

The Commission recognizes All Saints Church and Knoxville Catholic High School in the Special Use category. In reviewing this project, the Commission was most impressed with its unified architecture and landscape conservation. The complex, which was designed by Johnson Architecture, includes the church, community room and school buildings. Its architecture is coordinated through an intriguing combination of earth-tone brick and complementary rooflines. While the church rises appropriately above its surroundings, the complex is beautifully nestled into the terrain. Matt Stovall, the landscape architect, was instrumental in conserving and planting a variety of native trees. The Commission was also impressed with its open spaces, including a large area set aside to address flooding, and recreation facilities, particularly the trails that are available for the community's use.
