Our winner this evening is the Moses Center. The Boys and Girls Clubs Organization is greatly responsible for the preservation of this early 20^th century elementary school. Through their fund raising effort called Campaign 99, which was led by Bunny Oaks and Buck Vaughn, they raised over 3 million dollars for the restoration. In completing the project, they have met many pressing community needs. The facility has a teen center for area youth, provides office space for nonprofit groups and serves as the Police Training Center. The teen center includes computer and study rooms, a game room and gymnasium. The architects, McCarty Holsaple McCarty, were sensitive to the original design in restoring the auditorium, the windows and the entryways to the building.
