Moses Center

Our winner this evening is the Moses Center. The Boys and Girls Clubs Organization is greatly responsible for the preservation of this early 20th century elementary school. Through their fund raising effort called Campaign 99, which was led by Bunny Oaks and Buck Vaughn, they raised over 3 million dollars for the restoration. In completing the project, they have met many pressing community needs. The facility has a teen center for area youth, provides office space for nonprofit groups and serves as the Police Training Center. The teen center includes computer and study rooms, a game room and gymnasium. The architects, McCarty Holsaple McCarty, were sensitive to the original design in restoring the auditorium, the windows and the entryways to the building.
